New Garden Bed

It's all done. The manure and leaves are in. Here are some of the plants that will find their way into the new bed. Not all of them though. Making several more beds for that.

This is the bunch that I paid $38 for.

All Heuchera's.

A couple toad lilies.

Hakone Grass.

A whole mess of stuff including, primula, astible, umbrella plant, rodgersia, pulmonaria, dwarf solomon's seal, etc...and a dirty foot.

Four different epimediums as well. .40 cents each.

All these plants were on clearance. Run out and check your local garden centers, hurry!

I love holding a clump of soil and play it with fingers to check its healthiness. For your garden soil, I can only do it with my eyes... I think it will be a good host for many wonderful and healthy plants...
Good luck,

Wow what a collection for a great price! You can't go wrong with the heucheras and it looks like you found some other great ones too. I added some of the Hakone grass this year too.

Your border should look great, I have similar plants in my garden. Do you need something to add some height though?

I love your muddy foot in the one picture, the sign of a true gardener :)
Where did you find all the heucheras?! The nursery I was at was charging $10 for 4" pots. It's going to look great!

I am dying to ask you questions.
Will you be planting now- is it mild there?

My plants are dying because of the extreme heat.

I am now a follower!

You got such a good selection of plants at such a deal. It won't take long for the garden to look settled in when you start with those.

Wow - bargains galore! That's quite an amazing array at rock-bottom prices. I don't see bargains like that around here - guess I need to get out and shop more! My best bargain plant finds were in November at Home Despot - some beautiful heucheras for $1/each. I wasn't sure how they'd overwinter being planted so late, but they survived just fine, didn't heave over the winter, and are beautiful this season.
