Magnolia!

Magnolias are starting to bloom all around town. It was a bit breezy today so the petals were really dancing. It made for tough picture taking but a managed a few good ones.

I just love the blooms of the maple. So cute!

This is a young Edgeworthia or Oriental Paper Bush. I don't think they grow in colder climates than zone 7. They get to be a large shrub and are covered with these blooms. You should be able to find some good shots on google of mature specimens.

This Daphne's fragrance is unbelievable!

I agree with you on the fragrance of a Daphne. Mine is blooming now and smells wonderful. The only problem is that some of the leaves are yellowing-maybe from too much rain. I just hope that I don't loose it. Thanks for sharing such great pictures. Carla

The sky behind the magnolia blooms is amazing. Nice early springs in North Carolina. Enjoy.

Your magnolia is beautiful. That is my Dad's favorite tree. Ours had lovely blooms and then the ground underneath would be white when the petals fell.

You've got some really beautiful blooms! I love seeing the magnolias blooming now. We have a tiny tree and I'm hoping to see a bloom or two on it soon.

I'm so excited to find somseone else who thinks maple blooms are cute! Most people don't even realize non-showy flowering trees flower at all, LOL. Silver maples are starting to bloom here. And those magnolias are wonderful. Ours bloom around Mother's Day!

I was eyeing a Daphne at the Garden Center yesterday. Came home without her though. I have to refrain from spending too much in the Garden this year and those ladies are a bit pricey. Magnolia, Pear, Plum and Tulip trees are blooming here now…

Beautiful! Magnolias have to be one of my favorite trees. Hopefully they will start to bloom in our part of the world soon.

Michelle, The edgeworthias are little sticks with great flowers! There is nothing like a zone 7 garden for early bloom! I just today caught a whiff of the daphne I added to the garden last year...No one is ore surprised then me, that it's blooming or survived our wet winter. gail
