The cherry crop is huge this year. One of the biggest we have had in this area. These are sweets. They will be starting harvest this week in most areas.
I guess the squirrels and birds haven't discovered your delectable cherries yet. I hope they never do! My Dad has lots of problems with pests and has to put netting over his entire tree! Pain! Enjoy those cherries! Rosey
Yummy-yum-yum-yum! Summer is my favorite time for these wonderful pit fruits (cherries, plums, apricots, nectarines). Mmmmm, I'll be right over for a piece of home-made pie!
They aren't mine. I wish. I work in cherry orchards all summer. 20 farms in all. Everyone has a bumper crop this year. I do plan to harvest some to make pies and freezing.
Im a from the mitt a.k.a. Michigan. In Manistee County. I grew up very close to Lake Michigan, surrounded by lots of lakes, streams, and rivers. I currently live in NC and had to leave my gardens in MI. It's very hard to move away from my home. Everything from family, friends, gardens and all things familiar are there. I return to my mothers house in MI every summer to play in the dirt. Im lucky to have a place to keep my gardens.
I have around 600 var. of TB irises. They are my absolute favorite. I also grow peonies, roses, hellebores, clematis, grasses, ferns, hostas, and whatever else i can get my hands on. I grow many things from seeds. I haven't had a good veggy garden in a while but someday will have a grand one.
I am a born and raised gardener. My parents owned a small greenhouse operation when i was an infant. My parents practically raised me in the greenhouses. Explains the "home" sensation I feel when entering greenhouses.

Yum... what a fantastic harvest you'll have! Do you have any plans for them yet?
Nothing says summer more than those luscious looking cherries. I'd have to make a pie.
