My Favorite Poem

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)

i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

The first ee. cummings poem I've appreciated.

(I like his use of brackets too.)

e.e. cummings is one of my favorite poets and this poem has got to be one of his best. Thanks for joining GBMD.

e e cummings has ALWAYS been my favorite poet...since High School, when I actually had to study him in a poetry class:) I have never forgotten his words and love (MOST) of them...ya have to be careful with a few of 'em, just a bit)...I used to have another blog that I accidentally deleted before this, and I had all of the poems that I could think (by him) of listed on it. Take Care!

Omigosh, I LOVE e.e. cummings. What a wonderful poem.

I would love to see a movie done about his life sometime.
