Here are a few of the interesting fungi I ran across while working in the orchards late this summer. I don't what any of them are so maybe some of you shroom experts out there can i.d. them.
This one is huge! I had to put my hand over it so you could really gain perspective.
Love how this one is set atop a mossy bed.
Mushrooms seem to be posing, always photogenic.

What amazing fungi = I always find them fascinating
You're right, shrooms are always photogenic. Identifying them gets frustrating but I can help trying. It's always a pleasant surprise when I do
The first looks to be a Giant Puffball. Sliced and sauteed it's supposed to be choice eating according to some friends. I wouldn't know though since I don't eat fungus. Besides someone has to refrain from eating any I pick just in case. I'd hate to make two mistakes in one day.
There are such a wide range of mushrooms. I always find them mysterious, as they pop up after living in the ground for a long time. In the right conditions they sprout these fruits. Good photos.
Spring time is big mushroom season around here. Sounds like anytime might be there, more rain perhaps?
The size of that first mushroom is very impressive!
Wow that is a big mushroom. It is an Amanita species or commonly known as a Death Cap. Enjoyed the photos, I'll have to check our woods for edible Oyster mushrooms which love dead poplar trees.
With all the rain we have been having lately, mushrooms are popping up here, too. While mine aren't as big as yours, there have been a few that have come close.

Always Growing
Fungi are so fascinating in their various forms and coloration. Those specimens could be from another planet, they are so alien-looking. Great pics!
